A friend who seems so old to me gave me a Ganesh statue and it stilled me. How did he know that I would have appreciation for this? How tender the gesture to give this to me at such a transitional time in my life. I am grateful. Let me share with you why. Ganesh is one of the most widely worshiped Hindu Gods. He is templated with features of a human and an elephant. His is the son of Shiva and Parvati. Fond of sweets( and so am I ), he is depicted in a seated posture. Generally, considered as a bachelor; so living singularly, he is represented as a bestower of two Shaktis- Siddhi and Buddhi. It is considered auspicious to worship him at the start of any action or venture. I am about to venture into a number of new things. Business deals, friendships, travel. All starting NOW. I expect to win and anticipate having a great story to tell in my industry and personal life this year. I could not share at that moment how receiving this statue...
