Evaluation and Salutation of A MAN ( an advance thought as Father's Day 2011 approaches)

In evaluation and salutation of A MAN... I love the men in my life. I am very blessed to have them.  Many of them are examples of men who are loyal to their friends, families, women and their children.    They are all this and yet not perfect and they don't claim to be. As, I sit here a week from Father's Day and think ...what will I get for my Dad(?) I think about the structure of men. As for my Dad, this is a man who has never ever asked for anything of me other than to' go to school and be happy'. This is the man that was up at 5:30AM every morning to see to it that my sister and I got to 7 AM track practice when he was raising us in Texas. He's part of the reason I was a 9th Grader running Varsity and breaking records. (*discipline) This is the same man that when we were just 'itty -bitty girls' picked my sister and I up from the airport after a trip to visit with our Grandparents in Jamaica and instead of taking us direc...

Some thoughts on boys to MEN and I am not talking about the R&B group

My very smart, aware and ever evolving brother said to me a while back that there is and will always be a significant difference between boys and MEN. He shared a strong and poignant opinion that a lack of self respect often the self hatred , absence of love, abuse, or negative cultural conditioning will always impact whether or not someone who is biologically a man is truly that (an adult man) mentally and socially. He and I both believe that it is indicative most often in the way a man treats a woman. I can tell you some stories. There are boys over 30, 40 and even older and  there are men under 20 years old walking this earth.   I have a 2 year old nephew who runs to open the door for the women in the family and tries to take grocery bags and carry them to the table when we women enter the house with them. He's just a boy biologically and he is watching and learning from his father. I consider and would call those that are biologically men but not socially men .. "Old...

Watching my Words

Watching my words Category: Life Hello Precious Ones: This is a replay that is so necessary after a conversation I had today. Every word we utter is tied to an action; a thought stimulated by an action and vice versa. The subconscious coming to surface where things can be seen. In this time when so much is changing and business-minded folks can be drawn against their better judgment and good spirit more easily than any other time, I watch my words and mean each one that I use. " Trust, happiness, compassion ." I use these words only if I can act on them. " Peace, LOVE, Light, Kind Regards "...I use these words because I live them. "LOL" - I do it often. I want you to as well. Don’t just type it. Do it often..It requires action. Otherwise it’s just text ; just words. "P&L"..I have managed them forever in business and now and use them in notes to my personal friends. It means Profit and Loss in business capital management and Peace...

Finding Joys Light: Spiritual Mechanics for overcoming Unrequited Love.....

Finding Joys Light: Spiritual Mechanics for overcoming Unrequited Love..... Some time ago I got a call from a friend who was in emotional distress about the failure of her relationship with a man she had chosen to have a child with. Nothing was planned and nothing had gone has she had hoped and while in the midst of living the life she had not expected, she was questioning how someone she loved so much could treat her so badly. Her mood and way of being had become angry, neurotic in fact and she was pushing away the love that was truly authentic in her life. She thought for sure that she would not recover. I thought for sure that she could if not for her own sake, for the sake of her toddler daughter. Who of us has not felt the sting of unrequited love? Be it when we were just seven years old and so adored that young schoolmate who probably never treated us kindly, but in spite of it all each time we were suckers for punishment and we still wanted to play on their team, sit next to...
