The Things I will do Before You Are Gone....

Fully aware of how precious life is and remembering the tender, exciting and amazing muses that I have been blessed and no doubt favored to know.. I wrote this list. Enjoy it. Create a life you love. The Things I will do Before You Are Gone.© By Adrienne Wallace (June 2008) 1) I will tell you, "I love you more than anything ...except GOD." 2) I will squeal with delight when you have achieved something new or gotten more of what makes you happy. I will stay as you pursue your delight and be a part of you capturing it. 3) I will steal your pillowcase when you are out of the room and replace it with a fresh one. I will put the one I steal on my pillow so I can smell your essence when I nap or sleep. 4) I will hold your hand even if you were 'just my manicurist' and look into your eyes and say "Thank You"... Maybe you're touching hands all day, but I want you to remember that mine appreciates yours. They are so warm 5) I will wish you t...

Honor and Reveal Your Genius

I learn a lot about how we as human behave from observing other forms of life. We all can. I must share an ongoing observation that provides a great study of people and the virtue of honor. Fish reveal their genius in water. We would not put fish in a bucket of sand and expect them to swim. They are not made for sand. In the same way a fish has responsibility that when claiming to be one and presented with water....it swims. That fish must swim. This is especially true if it claims over and over to be what it is called. It must do what fish are called to do or in truth it is what ..I dead fish. If fish cannot and don't swim and does not behave as it should, it is essentially just bait and prey for the bigger and better of the sea that it finds itself amongst. Fish are often observant. Learning from the bigger and better fish of the sea. When a fish is unsure but dedicated to honoring its being, it humbly joins a school of fish and creates a movement by developing authentic knowl...

February

It's February already. I have not liked this month for years. It has been marked by death and heartbreak for me in the past and so I am not too fond of it. However I decided that I would not live in the past..I will live in the now and i am looking forward to meeting people in their now state of being. But ..it is Black History Month? Please ...that would be every month! Slavery, the Civil Rights movement, and all the rest that impacted people of color did not happen in any given February alone. Honor me always is the call. Standing on the backs of our ancestors and living the fruits of their sacrifice deserves recognition every single day. I salute them all in daily prayers. God Bless their souls and grant me the spirit and fervor much like those people who sacrificed, invented, advocated, and sacrificed had to transform this time to being an even better time. Oh and Valentine's Day? Never met that Saint Valentine and I love deeply, demonstratively every day. This however...

Living like my hands

I was looking at my hands today and I thought deeply about life. I use them ( my hands) for everything. I gather them in stillness beneath my bowed head daily to pray. I have slept with them beneath my cheek at night and I have come awake with them numb. The waking thought for me as I try to shake the sensation back into them is that I must find something to hold on to. Is sensation a metaphor for life? Maybe, I've tried to shake life back into them. Find something? Well look first for what is worthy of holding on to and then reach ..use your hands; grasp it tenderly, directly, take it. Unless there is so much fun and learning in not using your hands. Just today,I found myself putting one of my beautiful hands across my mouth to mute my laughter. I immediately pulled it away. Laughter is part of my intention. I have used my hands to design my life. To write my thoughts. To commute myself in my vehicle to places...safely. I use them to gather and usher a person towards reassurance, ...

Haiti - Stand Up!

Heavenly Father, Divine Energy of the Universe: You know exactly who this group is. Some of us are calling on you more often than we get to brush our teeth in a given day and this is a good thing. Born of this tragedy with your children and our brethren in Haiti will be heroic acts and new heroes. There will also be: Challenges and victors. Terrible trauma and destruction covered by relief and rebuilding. Pain which will call forth your healers. There are people sleeping in the open air. Keep the breath of Jesus flowing through their bodies and hearts as it may be your will. Allow for the spontaneous worship as tragedy never diminishes faith. Empower those of us and especially all those who believe to show up as our best selves and help in any way we can. Empower also the young and old children who do not yet know your power to do all they can and the best WE can to contribute to the healing of Haiti. Allow this time to be a further revelation of your presence and blessings. There may...

Homeless

Asked a homeless person...where do you live? He answered : " I don't have a "home". I have hearts of people that are my home. There are places I feel more at home than others. But yet, no "home". I've always wanted that security, but that has not been my fate.' So now with all my heart I think of him and others like him ..knowing this is one more home for those who perceive my heart to be kind.
