The Problem with Now

The only problem we ever have with now is that it is not about us as we are defined.
We are defined by our fears and our maddening resistance to change.
That is the problem with now.

The problem with now is that it requires thoughts outside of ourselves.
Imagine it is not about you.
What would now look like when we acknowledge that it is not about us?

The problem with now for many of us is that we do not see NOW we see past.
NOW is when we need to ask ourselves, "What does the past have to do with today?"

The problem with now is that it requires that we look at ourselves for cause and not blame or depend solely on others that we feel are different than us, obligated to us, or most comfortable to us.

We drive through life most times viewing the things and people around us as the cause of what is wrong with now.

We put them as a problem in the view scope and as the object in front of us.
We grab blame energy instead of motivation and inspiration from things.

We trip over them, perhaps slow down and attribute our crawl and/or freeze to them or even run into them instead.

Now, we view these people and things as a hindrance to our progress as much as they are the reasons why we should do things.

Now requires that we look solely at ourselves and realize that the drag of our soul's engines is due to the fact that we are moving along with our emergency brakes on.

Emergency brakes exist to help keep things safe and often from moving forward.
They are only to be applied when the decision is made to stay still.

Our slow progress in the now is not about how strong or fast another person's engine revs or moves them along.

Now is about checking the parts of our personal makeup and making sure they are high performance, maintained and fully functioning.

Hopefully we can manage through with full grace knowing the power we hold now.

LETTING GO....

L-E-T-T-I-N-G    G-O You have seen these words before..yes? Very simply written in nine letters. “L e tting  go .” Why does it make you uncomfortable?  It is simply an action that you as a human being experience every single day, just by physically and chemically existing.  It is an action that occurs when you have complete trust in your intuition ; that heaven sent voice inside of you. You know the one you may not always agree with, but the angels are so fond of you ..they send it into your ears, head, heart , and sometimes your eyes? If you are reading this your eyes open and they shut very quickly ..it is called "blinking" but in fact it is letting go and it happens very quickly. As we blink old light goes away and we allow new light to come in …seeing the next moment. As you turned on your computer or device you may have pressed a button, touched the screen, flipped a switch. As you clicked on your mouse, stroked and released keys on the k...

Where Did It Go? The question that comes when ownership is lost.

" Where Did It Go? " This is a common question asked about time, goodness, old regimes, and old relationships, memory and other than that... money and misplaced keys. Where did it go? We hear this amongst those of us who have not set a strategy and intention for what we have. This also the question that comes particularly from those of us who become all too confident in what we have but do not own. Ownership of one's talent, work, innovation, relationships and contribution is either an old or new concept in many places. What is encouraging is the ability to list our criteria for ownership and then be honest about what we truly own. Here are a few that I was thinking of today: Ownership of material things - You paid for it , don't owe anything for it to anyone Ownership of relationships - You tell the truth, engage with grace, and express mutual respect without excuses or references to what does not apply to the person you are relating to Ownership of innovation -...

Live Your Life As if Everything Is Rigged In Your Favor ..Even in Technology

I have an educational background with a top American engineering school and an Ivy League University. Society does not expect to see someone that looks like me on the campuses much less in those classrooms. Nevertheless, I did that. Several years ago, I had a White co-worker tell me that my voice on the phone and my knowledge base made him assume that I was much older and also White; so, he was shocked when he met me. He was also quite dumb because … I mean, use LinkedIn! I told him never assume anything about someone’s race based on the sound of their voice. I was already clued into the assumptions and bias that people have and offended that intelligence and articulation are deemed ” White” traits. The fact of the matter is that there is no gender or color for intelligence. However, if you ask Apple or Amazon – you’ll find that “Siri” and “Alexa” voices are predominate in their AI. I’ll leave it at that and expect the Tech world to act on what they already seem to know. I have...
