TEAM ON...That's my new team!
My
former client just told me .." You belong to TeamON." I like that. This
came out of a discussion about what he should be doing with his data. I
told him to hire an analyst who loves and consumes of his brands.
The person's role should be to understand the patterns of interaction within the customer database, they should be a strategist as well and be able to develop rules to respond and continually recalibrate with the new learning that comes along. I think that if the work is left to "campaign managers", you will find that they often have a limited view and just want to get it over with.
They are not as dedicated, though they will likely be as smart. There focus is limited to numbers and basic deliver and not interaction and qualitative and quantitative or multivariate testing.
An analyst with strategic vigor is going to be concerned with the long tail. This applies not only to my former client , but to all of us. Choose wisely for your team benefit and market share growth.
