Luxury Daily Article Featuring leading digital and brand marketer Adrienne A. Wallace, Vice President of Marketing for all digital media property, VIVMag By Rachel Lamb - March 11, 2011 Dior products can be bought in VIVmag Dior is trying its luck with advertising within VIVmag’s all-digital magazine that connects consumers to click-to-buy ad units. The brand has a two-page spread in VIVmag. Users are able to click on the campaign to watch a video and use the available link to buy Dior products. “[Hypothetically], consumers are able to click on a tube of LaMer cream, look at its consistency and then tap on it again to go to its Web site and buy it right then and there,” said Adrienne Wallace, vice president of brand marketing at VIVmag, New York. “This type of marketing cannot be imitated in any other medium except if the consumer physically goes to the store and tries on a product. “Aside from the immediate ability to buy luxury products, there are also opportuniti...

Empowered?

I used to become a bit annoyed by the way people would throw around the word "empowerment" and how often the services of an organization or products of a corporation were touted as able or existing to or empower others. In my time as as an executive manager and then a CEO; when people would tell me how great the work we did was, I would humbly say "thank you" and boldly tell them that that those that came to us were already empowered and in fact born that way. A product or a service can only awaken and even encourage in us that which is already within. Empowerment is about will and those of us who are aware of the will of others supporting it. Those seeking empowerment must be humble, trustworthy and pliant. A must - have is respect for time, place, intellect and experience of others. When someone attempts to share a knowledge store and especially when they are willing to meet us where we are as well as invite us in to their circles of influence, we mu...

What I know and ask for while alive today

Poor countries are growing much faster than rich ones. Knowing that we each could decide at some point in our lives to take a step back and do something about it. By " it" I am not speaking of the growth rate, but in fact the poverty. How do we educate, engage, inform, remove unnecessary boundaries, and elevate groups globally through our work? Can we do this as a by product of our work as well? I say this is why some of the best companies have corporate responsibility teams. However we each can be and make responsible high impact decisions even if our employers don't set CR as a part of the was they do business. I visited that point of doing something in 2009 by serving as CEO with Girls Inc. I gave what I cannot get back and learned a lot. People tell me they had no idea about the now, 147 year old organization until I enacted strategy, program policy and organizational marketing tactics that allowed us to expand awareness and reach out through media social, ...

Ganesh and Symbolism in my workspace.

A friend who seems so old  to me gave me a Ganesh statue and it stilled me. How did he know that I would have appreciation for this? How tender  the gesture to give this to me at such a transitional time in my life. I am grateful. Let me share with you why. Ganesh is one of the most widely worshiped Hindu Gods. He is templated with features of a human and an elephant. His is the son of Shiva and Parvati. Fond of sweets( and so am I ),  he is depicted in  a seated posture.  Generally, considered as a bachelor; so living singularly, he is represented as a bestower of two Shaktis- Siddhi and Buddhi. It is considered auspicious to worship him at the start of any action or venture. I am about to venture into a number of new things. Business deals, friendships, travel. All starting NOW. I expect to win and anticipate having a great story to tell in my industry and personal life this year. I could not share at that moment how receiving this statue...

Adrienne A, Wallace of VIVmag Launches Invitation-Only Affiliate Program

A couple of  months ago, I became a bit disenchanted by the way a brand can get lost through affiliate marketing programs.  I looked at Glam.com , CJ.com  and was not big on how those entities would manage to serving graphics, content, offers that would resonate with each etailer or bloggers pre - exisiting content. It seems that there is no distinct logic to placing banners and attracting consumers anymore. In fact a luxury brand could be served a mass retailer ad. I did not want to be part of the disregard for affinity with potential consumers. Companies join affiliate networks and just any person or random website seems to be able to claim a genre and automatically they get access and opportunity to promote a brand on  their sites. The brand I am working with has a soul. In fact there are 7 pillars that drive the content of this multimedia targeted towards and created for affluent women.  They are  Fitness, Wellness, Awareness, Healthy Eating, Sty...

What's the Story Here? Do you think your Page/Group is a Barbara Walter's Special?

I found myself spending some time unliking several Pages and leaving several Groups on facebook because they seem to have been abandoned by the creators and administrators. There have been no postings for months and there is no talk back or reply to comments made by people who have commented on postings.  Have you noticed this too? Let me tell you that social media is very much a channel and medium of demographic access but it is also a domain  with rich psychographic information  and psychology reaction as well. Ask the celebrity whose PR company does not monitor his/her pages if there is any question about this and the impact of ignoring an audience. We live in a time where digital /social media tears down borders and  dramatically increases the speed to market of what we have  to offer. We get  to be  "global, " gain motivation for our craft, product, and imagine this ...can be inspired towards growth and longevity for s...

A Digital Marketer's Thought on Egypt in the age of Social Media

I was thinking about Egypt and the things going on there.   I relate much in the world to how we communicate today.   The digital means of connecting and the capital and political ways of being are worthy of evaluation. Egypt is the second largest economy in Africa. United States is still one of the largest in the Western Hemisphere. We used social media to help choose our President in 2008.  In 2011 Egyptians used social media to help overturn their President. #mythinkingisnotsorandom
