Mid-month marketing maxims for brands in the digital age - Adrienne A. Wallace

It's been a while since I posted about the marketing game. I got  an email with a pretty good question from someone working on a smaller marketing communications project. She wanted to know what needs to happen in order to drive the brand to "favorite status" in a competitive field.  I shared what I think are some basics (beyond being situated and active in social media). Everyone is jumping on the social media band wagon, but there are some  foundation basics that could best be employed to support  the success early on. A brand being established as a favorite place "on line" requires a few of things: 1) A portal that is easy to access via mobile and pc without exception to software 2) Audible  AND Visual features that visitors can select. The pop up - take over thing is not exactly welcoming. 3) the ability to share content via email and social pages  4) Opportunities to PERSONALIZE; integrate items personal to you; pictures  and video without ...

LETTING GO....

L-E-T-T-I-N-G    G-O You have seen these words before..yes? Very simply written in nine letters. “L e tting  go .” Why does it make you uncomfortable?  It is simply an action that you as a human being experience every single day, just by physically and chemically existing.  It is an action that occurs when you have complete trust in your intuition ; that heaven sent voice inside of you. You know the one you may not always agree with, but the angels are so fond of you ..they send it into your ears, head, heart , and sometimes your eyes? If you are reading this your eyes open and they shut very quickly ..it is called "blinking" but in fact it is letting go and it happens very quickly. As we blink old light goes away and we allow new light to come in …seeing the next moment. As you turned on your computer or device you may have pressed a button, touched the screen, flipped a switch. As you clicked on your mouse, stroked and released keys on the k...

Evaluation and Salutation of A MAN ( an advance thought as Father's Day 2011 approaches)

In evaluation and salutation of A MAN... I love the men in my life. I am very blessed to have them.  Many of them are examples of men who are loyal to their friends, families, women and their children.    They are all this and yet not perfect and they don't claim to be. As, I sit here a week from Father's Day and think ...what will I get for my Dad(?) I think about the structure of men. As for my Dad, this is a man who has never ever asked for anything of me other than to' go to school and be happy'. This is the man that was up at 5:30AM every morning to see to it that my sister and I got to 7 AM track practice when he was raising us in Texas. He's part of the reason I was a 9th Grader running Varsity and breaking records. (*discipline) This is the same man that when we were just 'itty -bitty girls' picked my sister and I up from the airport after a trip to visit with our Grandparents in Jamaica and instead of taking us direc...

You, ME and HIM

My dear friend who lives all too far away asked me how she could go about communicating the end of a relationship to someone who she loses courage to let go of  when they are face to face. She said it was only because she 'cannot stand the look of devastation that would be in his eyes'. I told her the "devastation" was stringing that person along when she knew it was over.  She said, "He is not the 'him' that I need or want." I then told her to write about it. I find that for those of us tied( professionally and personally) to media and artistic expression, it is easier to get it out that way. We read look or listen to it and all of a sudden ..courage to make it happen face to face comes along. In fact, I think this works well for almost anybody. She said she would try and in my own knowing of myself and imagining what I would do if the situation were mine, I wrote a piece that would be my spiritual and poetic truth if I had to cut the wrong one...

Together

E very solitary state comes from chasm. In four parts Sexuality, Humanity, Spirituality, Charity You can embrace them or become complacent. The fear of them is fear of you. Dark and cold...like an empty basement. Plugged in but like an empty freezer. How much low energy does it require to be cold? Hot, warm, beaming, and bright just like the sun. This is our choice. You say, "I can't find my place yet." Is it because you are depending on another person? Perhaps. In your mind, heart, on your body you seek validation. In the eyes of another, you seek acceptance. You and I think of where the time went. It does not matter ... Leave it to Father Time to keep... We hope and dream that we will wake tomorrow.. And in tomorrow find the strength to declare no more need. That day is today . No longer ...Racing towards the end. No more claims of "Can't seem to win!" Feeling so transient This place is no sanctuary. We lea...
