Embracing Transition - Things to do when it seems to be falling apart.

Things fall apart often and we should expect that or nothing at all.  It's quite natural and we are a part of nature.  Transition is a part of living. No changes ...no worthwhile life. Sitting here in the middle of summer and looking at the leaves that had dried and fallen to the ground  in my backyard  while  I watched over playtime, my niece declared "It's going to be fall soon!"

I smiled at her and said " You're 5 years old, don't rush it..you'll have to go back to school!"
She responded, " I know! I get to start first grade and I'm going to be the youngest in my class. I love school!"

Who can argue with that embrace of transition, a positive spin, optimism and enthusiasm?

Lesson  - When things seem   to fall apart (and they often will)...be optimistic as to what opportunities and new experiences come with the change.

Better than that, here is a list of 10 things to do when things fall apart. Be it an illness, job loss, the end of a relationship, a broken computer, a faulty email system, a critical change, or heaven only knows what else.

1) Volunteer at a place where there are people less fortunate than you and /or in need of your expertise or spirit. Donate the things you've been meaning to give away. - This is a great way to keep your humanity in gear.
2) Sleep in a little later than you ever would
3) Write down what your dream is and get on the computer and Google  the key expressions you wrote down. It may lead you to a place you never expected
4) Clean, organize, and empty your email  inbox and personal surroundings as necessary.
5) Wash you car or someone else's by hand.
6) Spend time with little children. They giggle ceaselessly and help you to exercise the patience muscle.
7) Go have lunch with the friend you never get to see because  you are always missing each other
8) Hand write a letter to someone you 've been meaning to connect with
9) Cry - tears are toxic ..get them out and get it over with
10) Be smart and tell someone and then and take the appropriate steps to help yourself.

Sometimes it is hard as an adult to pursue happiness and bliss if we have been comfortable our whole lives .
It can be equally difficult if the transition has emotional or financial implications. But like the seasons the changes are often necessary.

The best pursuits come from the presence of grief, something broken, frustration with process or the lack thereof, and often confusion.  Everything coming to life hurts.

Here's to your new birth and upcoming joys.

LETTING GO....

L-E-T-T-I-N-G    G-O You have seen these words before..yes? Very simply written in nine letters. “L e tting  go .” Why does it make you uncomfortable?  It is simply an action that you as a human being experience every single day, just by physically and chemically existing.  It is an action that occurs when you have complete trust in your intuition ; that heaven sent voice inside of you. You know the one you may not always agree with, but the angels are so fond of you ..they send it into your ears, head, heart , and sometimes your eyes? If you are reading this your eyes open and they shut very quickly ..it is called "blinking" but in fact it is letting go and it happens very quickly. As we blink old light goes away and we allow new light to come in …seeing the next moment. As you turned on your computer or device you may have pressed a button, touched the screen, flipped a switch. As you clicked on your mouse, stroked and released keys on the k...

Like the things around us ....

Early last week I got to thinking about how egotistical we all are and how the dominance by the ego drives us straight to hell or rather hellish experiences. The downfall of personal relationships, the global economy, spiritual failures, professional and even physical failings are all the result of ego being in full play. Every bad thing that is happening in the world now can be attributed to horrific egos and disregard . Suffering in all of its proportions are a result of the ego on over drive. I am convinced of this because of things I have learned through my own life experience, quiet observation of others, and also from practicing and following A Course In Miracles over the years. I had someone tell me last week that he was 'looking for clarity in (his) life.' It is such a common thing to hear. People are often seeking either clarity or closure. In this case lack of clarity seems to be a reason to stay in a personal situation that is not exactly the best thing for this ...

Show some respect. He is not your companion. He is your Commander -In - Chief.

The blatant and horrid disrespect of our Nation's President started long before the State of the Union address where he was called a " liar"  and continues with  even worse name calling and racial attacks. Our President may be referred to as the following:  " Mr. President", "The Honorable Barack Obama", "His Excellency,  Barack Obama", and of course President Obama.  Nothing less is acceptable. Even referencing him by first name alone (as many people do) is out of line unless you are First Lady Michelle Obama. While I think we are a global family, I also think these ongoing episodes do much to  further segregate America and give it the image of our country as a place of disgrace, disuntity, and hate. Imagine trying to explain it to a 5 year old who followed the campaign and elections with her family and proudly declared that " Our President is Barack Obama and Ms. Michelle looks like my Nana." (*my heart breaks for ...
