The Problem with Now

The only problem we ever have with now is that it is not about us as we are defined. We are defined by our fears and our maddening resistance to change. That is the problem with now. The problem with now is that it requires thoughts outside of ourselves. Imagine it is not about you. What would now look like when we acknowledge that it is not about us? The problem with now for many of us is that we do not see NOW we see past. NOW is when we need to ask ourselves, "What does the past have to do with today?" The problem with now is that it requires that we look at ourselves for cause and not blame or depend solely on others that we feel are different than us, obligated to us, or most comfortable to us. We drive through life most times viewing the things and people around us as the cause of what is wrong with now. We put them as a problem in the view scope and as the object in front of us. We grab blame energy instead of motivation and inspiration from things. We trip over the...

A Blog to a cherished friend that I realize now applies to so many others too!

I saw a message from a friend that required a bit of my life's learned philosophy to be considered and so I shared the following (that starts after the line) with her in reponse. Today, as I remind myself of how deeply connected people are and how the experiences of life can be so similar for many of us, I also decided that I needed to share this philosophy in a blog with the rest of you. Essentially, this person nicknamed "Young Lotus" was having some "confusion" with the false values and "constant pretending" of people. My response to anyone faced with this challenge with the dramatic and less than authentic is below. Remember it is not about the situation. It is about how we skillfully and spiritually respond to the challenge others present us with. All is well :) ____________________________________________________________________________________ This makes perfect sense to me. As we become more conscious of to whom we belong and why we are here, ...

Where Did It Go? The question that comes when ownership is lost.

" Where Did It Go? " This is a common question asked about time, goodness, old regimes, and old relationships, memory and other than that... money and misplaced keys. Where did it go? We hear this amongst those of us who have not set a strategy and intention for what we have. This also the question that comes particularly from those of us who become all too confident in what we have but do not own. Ownership of one's talent, work, innovation, relationships and contribution is either an old or new concept in many places. What is encouraging is the ability to list our criteria for ownership and then be honest about what we truly own. Here are a few that I was thinking of today: Ownership of material things - You paid for it , don't owe anything for it to anyone Ownership of relationships - You tell the truth, engage with grace, and express mutual respect without excuses or references to what does not apply to the person you are relating to Ownership of innovation -...

Evolution Granted - June 2009

As I sit here on July 5, 2009....I feel myself to be in a bit of recovery or better yet growth. This blog has nothing to do with the recession. It never could for me as I have decided long ago that I am not participating in that. If you were looking to read about the economic recovery...you are reading the wrong blog. This past spring is one unlike any I have ever experienced. I am not alone. June 2009 was marked by the death of so many people and so many things. People I never knew and people I did have passed on. There is no longer that " death comes in three(s)". It has been occurring in multiples of three. I find myself now submerged in the role of CEO and Executive Director ...pulling a necessary organization with regional expanse onto stable ground. This is a higher ground that maybe only I can see and so I was chosen and accepted. I find that I am also living my values everyday in this role and in doing so there are relationships that I have to serve as conduit to...

TRUTH SERUM SERIES (No.2) - It's None Of My Business -

A few weeks ago we hosted dinner at with a friend of mine and her new husband. Now, I am gonna share some things (primarily in bold) that you might want to write down. Ready? This meal was with a friend that I had not seen since last autumn (and her new husband). It was a good night of laughter and shared truths as well as some illusions which were quite funny to discover. She was reflecting on things she said she had learned from me during the course of our friendship. These were things that I had said about happiness, faith and religion, family and some things on being positive and authentic that I had shared or remarked during our conversations. These are two good people by our measure and perception. We talked into the wee hours of the evening until they ended up staying for the evening in the front guest room. One of the things we talked about that evening was the dramatic shift that I have made over the past year or so, regarding how I react to things and people. You ...

Hard Pill to Swallow!© YOU get wrapped up, caught up, out to pursue something new because the old skin that is you, YOU want to crawl out of. Preoccupied with something so outside of YOU YOU crawl over, on top of, up beside skin you don't know because YOU would rather have someone else touch YOU than touch yourself. Rather be in their environment than find comfort in your own. YOU are uncomfortable and their place, their facades, it makes you forget YOU have to deal with YOU YOU lie Because you think no one b...

Watching my Words

Watching my words Category: Life Hello Precious Ones: This is a replay that is so necessary after a conversation I had today. Every word we utter is tied to an action; a thought stimulated by an action and vice versa. The subconscious coming to surface where things can be seen. In this time when so much is changing and business-minded folks can be drawn against their better judgment and good spirit more easily than any other time, I watch my words and mean each one that I use. " Trust, happiness, compassion ." I use these words only if I can act on them. " Peace, LOVE, Light, Kind Regards "...I use these words because I live them. "LOL" - I do it often. I want you to as well. Don’t just type it. Do it often..It requires action. Otherwise it’s just text ; just words. "P&L"..I have managed them forever in business and now and use them in notes to my personal friends. It means Profit and Loss in business capital management and Peace...
