Two lists for the " rebirth"

We have the New Year's resolutions, but I exempt myself from that. Too many people jump on that bandwagon and hunker down the wheels such that it is not serious or authentic for most. Then we get this time. Passover and Easter. A time of renewal, birth, rebirth in fact. Realization! This time is tied to all the earth. It is tied not just to humans. It is tied to all life forces and all of nature. I am grateful for this time. The last year of my life has been full with deep contemplation. I have made significant sacrifices, given what I cannot get back, and now I reflect. Out of my egg I come. New relationships, redefined relationships, some things that I will let fall away. New strategy and a select few to support me in adhering to my 2 lists. I share them below. Rebirth!!!!! "List 1: Your Focus List (the road ahead) What are you trying to achieve? What makes you happy? What's important to you? Design your time around those things. Because time is your one limited resource...

What I Find In Friends ...

In my friends' eyes I see an expectation for great things and in their hearts' .. I see a devotion to making it all a reality. I even compute their occasional confusion in this way and together we make each day better for us all. We experience forgiveness and willfully do so, because we are aware that there has been or will be a time when we too need to be forgiven. When we are called towards kindness we turn and welcome it. We take nothing for granted. We help each other to rise up and put our hand out even if it is not needed; so each knows that the other is there. We share uncontrollable laughter and wonder why the whole world isn't in on the joke. We share our sorrows sometimes publicly and also silently. We are simply devoted to sharing. We know that there are no guarantees and show up anyway in any way we can. We say thank you to each other and we know that love is not a four lettered word. We are devoted always in all ways. When we say " I love you..." It i...

Chil" E" and maybe Hawai" I" ...why do you think?

I believe in a lot of things and I believe that we are all potent sources of energy. As this February comes to a close, it is marked by a great deal of sorrow and a memory of difficult and tragic things. I think now of the recent earthquake in Chile and the fear of a tsunami for Hawaii and places along the Pacific Ocean and I must share this thought: It's all energy folks! Stop your complaints about the beautiful and STILLING snow and cold. Nature and the weather is a universal source. Your anger and annoyance is bad energy and look how it translates to other places in the world. Inundate some appreciation and graciousness and see what calm can come. Yes... really. You... and your attitude are a powerful energy. Now make a choice! We have this love and hate relationship with nature and the weather and if we were to treat people that way we could not expect them to be loyal in their relationship to us. We could not expect that they would not be angry with us. Just as mistreatment ...

The Things I will do Before You Are Gone....

Fully aware of how precious life is and remembering the tender, exciting and amazing muses that I have been blessed and no doubt favored to know.. I wrote this list. Enjoy it. Create a life you love. The Things I will do Before You Are Gone.© By Adrienne Wallace (June 2008) 1) I will tell you, "I love you more than anything ...except GOD." 2) I will squeal with delight when you have achieved something new or gotten more of what makes you happy. I will stay as you pursue your delight and be a part of you capturing it. 3) I will steal your pillowcase when you are out of the room and replace it with a fresh one. I will put the one I steal on my pillow so I can smell your essence when I nap or sleep. 4) I will hold your hand even if you were 'just my manicurist' and look into your eyes and say "Thank You"... Maybe you're touching hands all day, but I want you to remember that mine appreciates yours. They are so warm 5) I will wish you t...

Honor and Reveal Your Genius

I learn a lot about how we as human behave from observing other forms of life. We all can. I must share an ongoing observation that provides a great study of people and the virtue of honor. Fish reveal their genius in water. We would not put fish in a bucket of sand and expect them to swim. They are not made for sand. In the same way a fish has responsibility that when claiming to be one and presented with water....it swims. That fish must swim. This is especially true if it claims over and over to be what it is called. It must do what fish are called to do or in truth it is what ..I dead fish. If fish cannot and don't swim and does not behave as it should, it is essentially just bait and prey for the bigger and better of the sea that it finds itself amongst. Fish are often observant. Learning from the bigger and better fish of the sea. When a fish is unsure but dedicated to honoring its being, it humbly joins a school of fish and creates a movement by developing authentic knowl...

February

It's February already. I have not liked this month for years. It has been marked by death and heartbreak for me in the past and so I am not too fond of it. However I decided that I would not live in the past..I will live in the now and i am looking forward to meeting people in their now state of being. But ..it is Black History Month? Please ...that would be every month! Slavery, the Civil Rights movement, and all the rest that impacted people of color did not happen in any given February alone. Honor me always is the call. Standing on the backs of our ancestors and living the fruits of their sacrifice deserves recognition every single day. I salute them all in daily prayers. God Bless their souls and grant me the spirit and fervor much like those people who sacrificed, invented, advocated, and sacrificed had to transform this time to being an even better time. Oh and Valentine's Day? Never met that Saint Valentine and I love deeply, demonstratively every day. This however...

Living like my hands

I was looking at my hands today and I thought deeply about life. I use them ( my hands) for everything. I gather them in stillness beneath my bowed head daily to pray. I have slept with them beneath my cheek at night and I have come awake with them numb. The waking thought for me as I try to shake the sensation back into them is that I must find something to hold on to. Is sensation a metaphor for life? Maybe, I've tried to shake life back into them. Find something? Well look first for what is worthy of holding on to and then reach ..use your hands; grasp it tenderly, directly, take it. Unless there is so much fun and learning in not using your hands. Just today,I found myself putting one of my beautiful hands across my mouth to mute my laughter. I immediately pulled it away. Laughter is part of my intention. I have used my hands to design my life. To write my thoughts. To commute myself in my vehicle to places...safely. I use them to gather and usher a person towards reassurance, ...
